Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible breeding, feeding and watering the animal colonies and cleaning/disinfecting their enclosures, equipment and surrounding work areas. Assists with breeding reptiles, maintains daily work logs, reports and other records. Record and provide feedback on animal health and welfare to manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically demanding physical labor, requires endurance in repetitive tasks, operating at a fast pace for extended periods of time, standing on feet for 8 hours a day. Must be mobile and active throughout the day.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor warehouse climate simulates a tropical weather condition; work is performed in warm and humid environments in order to simulate the animals natural environment.
SKILLS NEEDED
Will Train Must be able to recognize and understand animal behavior. Must be able to handle Small Pythons, Lizards and Rodents. Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions including strict policy and procedures for the care and maintenance of animals, equipment and facility. Must be able to follow bio security rules and procedures to prevent the introduction of pathogens into the colony. Must be able to handle the stress associated with high risk situations of feeding, breeding and cleaning animal enclosures. Must be able to exercise patience, consideration and empathy toward animals while carrying out duties. Must be able to observation, recognize and evaluate conditions of animal health, diet and behavior and communicate this information to management.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work some weekends on a rortaing schedule as well as holidays, Ability to make it to work during all climatic conditions. Must be able to pass a rigid background check including work history, criminal records and other records deemed necessary.
MUST BE PUNCTUAL AND RELIABLE.
