Typical effective earnings:

It takes reading body language, handling a leash confidently, noticing when something seems off, and earning the trust of both pets and their people. Buffalo Dog Walkers is looking for an experienced pet care professional to join our weekday daytime team. If you've worked in dog walking, pet sitting, boarding, daycare, veterinary care, shelter work, or training, we'd love to meet you. We're especially interested in someone comfortable caring for larger dogs, energetic dogs, and dogs who need thoughtful handling around other animals. You'll have independence on your route, clear care instructions, and a team to contact when you need support. As you learn our systems and demonstrate strong judgment, there may be opportunities to help onboard teammates, support more complex pet care, or grow into additional responsibilities. Visits may include:
Daily dog walks Puppy potty breaks, playtime, and enrichment Cat care Feeding and fresh water Medication according to care instructions Vacation pet care visits Friendly, professional updates and photos after each visit You'll also notice and report changes in a pet's behavior or condition, communicate promptly when a concern arises, and handle pets and client homes with care. Who We're Looking For You have hands-on animal care experience. You've cared for animals in a professional or substantial volunteer setting and can share examples of your handling skills and judgment. You're confident and attentive with dogs. You can read body language, recognize signs of stress, and safely manage dogs of different sizes and energy levels. You know when to adjust your approach or ask for help. You take pride in being dependable. Pets rely on their visits, clients count on us, and teammates count on one another. You enjoy working independently. You're comfortable managing a route, following detailed instructions, and making thoughtful decisions within our procedures. You communicate warmly and clearly. You can reassure a client with a helpful update, flag a concern promptly, and work respectfully with your team. You enjoy an active workday. Walking, driving, and spending time outdoors—including in Buffalo weather—sound like a good fit for you. We'll teach you our systems and introduce you to the pets. We're looking for someone who already brings a strong foundation in animal care. Schedule We're looking for consistent Monday-Friday daytime availability during one of these windows: 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Most team members work approximately 10-20 hours per week , depending on client demand and availability. Your availability window is broader than your scheduled paid hours; hours are not guaranteed. We also ask for availability approximately one weekend per month . What You'll Need Relevant hands-on experience in professional or volunteer animal care A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance A smartphone capable of running our scheduling app Ability to safely handle large, strong, or energetic dogs Comfort working outdoors in a range of weather conditions Consistent weekday daytime availability Ability to commit to the position for at least six months At least 18 years of age Pay & Benefits Typical effective earnings are $18-$20/hour, including bonuses and average tips. Tips and bonuses vary and are not guaranteed.
