We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
Confident and Calm:
Has a temperament that can command the behavior of groups of up to five dogs.
Solution-Oriented & Adaptable:
Many situations can come up on a walk. The ideal candidate thrives thinking on their feet and handles challenges effectively.
Self starter:
This is a role you can't phone in. The ideal candidate is ready to show up to work every day, can manage a schedule, communicate clearly, and is accountable.
Physically Fit:
Enjoys staying active and can confidently handle up to 45 minutes of continuous walking, up to 6 times daily. Running/jogging for periods up to 5 minutes are common.
The Role:
As a Walker , you'll: Pick up dogs from clients houses in your own vehicle and walk them either around the neighborhood or at a local trail depending on the service, sometimes walking dogs individually and sometimes in groups. Manage dog behavior confidently and safely during the hike. Communicate clearly with clients, providing updates on their pets. Work with our office manager to maintain your schedule. Driving Requirements Driving is a major part of this role: Your day will be spent both walking dogs and driving between clients' houses. While we do our best to schedule our walkers on routes with dogs close to each other, there is a significant amount of driving involved in this role. If that is something you are not comfortable with, this role might not be for you. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a personal, not-shared vehicle that allows dogs are required. What Else You'll Need Minimum availability: Daytime availability between 9 and 3, two or three days a week. Live within 20 miles of Somers, Katonah, Bedford Hills or Mount Kisco. A position in Chappaqua is also available. A smartphone with internet capability for photos and communication. Be 21 years or older. A love for animals and the outdoors (we walk in all weather!). This job is not like a traditional office job. It's physically engaging, mentally rewarding, and provides a deep connection with dogs. The right candidate will find the challenge fulfilling, with every day bringing something new. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys working independently and is drawn to part-time work and not seeking a full-time position. Compensation $16-$30 per hour, plus commission and tips. Paid training provided to set you up for success.
