Job Description

Dog Caregiver (Counselor) FT and PT positions available. $17-$20 an hour depending on experience. Flexible schedule including nights and weekends. The DOG is the Hudson Valley's leading dog training company. For over 15 years, our staff of trainers, counselors, drivers and client service personnel have worked together to provide world-class service to an elite clientele. We are always looking for "dog people" to join our team. We are currently seeking 2-3 Dog Caregivers (Counselors). Join our dynamic team as a Dog Caregiver (Counselor), where your passion for animals and dedication to their well-being will make a meaningful difference. In this role, you will provide compassionate care, behavioral support, and enrichment to dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure each dog feels safe, loved, and stimulated in a nurturing environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals while supporting their physical and emotional health.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Supervise playgroups of all sizes to ensure a safe, stress-free environment. Provide daily care and supervision for dogs, including feeding, walking, and administering medications as needed Observe and assess dog behavior to identify signs of stress, anxiety, or health issues, offering appropriate interventions Assist with training exercises to promote good manners, obedience, and socialization skills Maintain a clean and sanitized environment by performing regular cleaning and sanitization
Required Skills/Abilities:
Timeliness and reliability are essential. We are caring for live animals. Ability to lift heavy objects (team lifting when necessary) and perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions Attention to detail in cleaning protocols to ensure a hygienic environment for all animals Nights/weekends/holidays as needed - flexibility is a must! Transportation required. Prior experience in a dog care facility is preferred, but the willingness to learn and a positive attitude is all that is required. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
