Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. You will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all canines receive the highest standard of care while also assisting with customer service needs. There are two current openings with options to work anywhere from 12-32 hours per week, primarily for the evening shift. Current shifts available are listed below: Tuesdays 1:30/2:30PM-9PM Wednesdays 1:30/2:30PM-9PM Thursdays 1:30/2:30PM-9PM Saturdays 1:30/2:30PM-9PM Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs. Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by regularly cleaning and sanitizing kennels, common areas, bathroom and equipment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed. Support dog training activities by reinforcing basic commands and socializing pets. Perform heavy lifting as required when moving animals or supplies. Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive environment for both dogs and staff. Qualifications Previous experience in animal care is preferred but not required. Knowledge of kennel operations, dog handling techniques, and animal behavior is an asset. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with animal care. Experience in animal restraint techniques is a plus. Familiarity with pet grooming practices is desirable but not mandatory.
