KENNEL TECH A
kennel tech is in charge of the dog kennels, keeping them clean at all times and helping in other areas as needed.
KENNEL TECH RESPONSIBILITES
- Clean Kennels
- Clean walkways
- Remove all feces from the kennels throughout the day.
- Remove and clean all dog bowls daily.
- Spray and wash walkway
- Sweep, mop and sanitize kennel area and work area
- Wash all bedding and keep laundry done daily
- Fold and put laundry away daily
- Laundry room must be kept clean daily and no laundry or dishes are to be left undone
- Walk and play with dogs daily
- Keep feces cleaned from the play yard daily
- Bathe dogs when they leave for rescue or are adopted
- Feed and water dogs in fresh bowls daily
- Help vaccinate and deworm incoming dogs
- Communicate with wardens about regarding behavior issues with the dogs and new arrivals
- Make kennel tickets when there are new arrivals
- Keep patio clean of all clutter
- Keep inventory of all supplies and keep them organized (leashes, collars, harnesses, etc.)
- Take out the trash daily from inside kennel and patio
- Walk prospected adoptees around who are interested in adopting
- Be able to answer questions regarding dogs and their behavior
- Anything else that may be asked from the Supervisor
- Hours of work are subject to change at any time at the discretion of the supervisor
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KENNEL TECH REQUIREMENTS
- Proven kennel tech experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Strong organizational and follow up skills
- Professional presentation and attitude
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually
- Strong time management skills.
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
Pay:
$15.00 per hour Expected hours: 29.5 per week
