Cherish K9 House

Animal Care Attendant

Job Description

Please read the entire description before applying - This is NOT a "playing with puppies job". We are looking for an outgoing, upbeat, energetic, detail oriented, compassionate, animal lover. We have 2 openings - one is an overnight position with 1-2 day shifts possible. The 2nd is weekends and 1-2 mid shifts during the week. This is not an afterschool type of job. But may be good for college students as long as you realize you will have to work holidays and long weekends. Loving animals is great but this is so much more than that. We have dogs as big as 130# and you will have to keep them and yourself safe. We work weekends and holidays and you will be expected to do so as well. Every day will be different so being able to stay self motivated and on task is imperative. We are BUSY all the time and you will be moving!!! There will be a lot of cleaning. Bathrooms, kennels, kitchen, play yards, picking up poop, laundry, dusting and on and on and on!!!! This is a fast paced job that requires your head out of your phone and your eyes on the animals. This is a physically demanding job and even though it is cleaning and taking care of animals there is still a lot of customer service involved. Cleaning is the main responsibility but there is a lot more to this job as well. Please only apply if you are serious about the position. I would prefer not to waste your time or mine.
Things to know:
You must answer all of the pre screening questions or I will reject your application. My dog's name is Penelopie. I will ask you MY dog's name - not yours. :) (hint - this is about attention to detail.) You must be over 18 to apply.
Pay:
From $15.50 per hour Application Question(s): What is your weekly availability? When are you available to start work? What is my dog's name? (it was in the job description) Can you pass a background and drug test? Are you available to work weekends and holidays? Explain your level of experience with animals OUTSIDE of just owning them. Are you at least 18 years old? Please describe what you think this job entails based on the job description. Have you applied to this job previously? If yes, were you interviewed?
