Job Description

Job Summary:
Petland Monroeville is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Kennel Technician to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care for animals in our facility, ensuring their health, cleanliness, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience working with animals, a strong work ethic, and a passion for pet care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care, feeding, and monitoring of animals in the kennel. Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Assist with basic grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming. Observe animal behavior and report any signs of illness or distress to management or veterinary staff. Administer medications as directed by a veterinarian or supervisor. Ensure dogs receive adequate exercise and socialization through supervised play and walks. Interact with pet owners, providing updates and excellent customer service. Maintain accurate records of animal care, feeding schedules, and any special needs. Assist with intake and discharge of animals, including proper documentation and handling. Follow all safety protocols and facility guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements:
As a Kennel Technician or equivalent experience preferred. Previous experience in a kennel, veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or pet boarding facility is a plus. Ability to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow care instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good physical stamina; ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
