Job Description

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and responsible Farm Animal & Barn Caretaker to help care for our animals and maintain a clean, safe, and organized barn and animal areas. Our property includes a variety of farm animals, including chickens, other fowl, goats, rabbits, donkeys, and other animals. Responsibilities Feed and provide fresh water to all animals according to established schedules. Clean and refill food and water containers as needed. Check animals throughout the day to ensure they are healthy, safe, and properly cared for. Monitor animals for changes in behavior, eating, drinking, or overall condition and promptly report any concerns. Provide basic daily grooming and care for animals. Assist with basic animal handling and safely move animals when necessary. Clean and maintain animal stalls, pens, coops, and barn areas. Remove manure and animal waste and maintain clean, sanitary conditions throughout the animal areas. Maintain bedding and replace dirty or wet bedding as needed. Collect eggs and properly maintain chicken and other fowl areas. Keep feed, supplies, tools, and animal-care areas clean, organized, and readily accessible. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized barn and surrounding animal areas. Assist with general upkeep and grounds maintenance around the animal areas and property. Follow all animal care, safety, sanitation, and facility procedures. Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, shoveling, sweeping, carrying supplies, and walking for extended periods. Work outdoors and in barn environments in varying weather conditions. Qualifications Previous experience caring for farm animals, livestock, or working on a farm is preferred Must be comfortable working around chickens, goats, rabbits, donkeys, and other animals Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Strong attention to cleanliness and detail Must be comfortable with physical work and getting dirty Ability to recognize when an animal may need additional attention or veterinary care Must treat all animals with patience, kindness, and respect Reliable transportation is required Must be willing to follow a daily animal-care schedule Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a responsible, dependable, and hardworking individual who has a genuine interest in animal care and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all animals. The position requires someone who is comfortable with hands-on work and understands the importance of consistent daily care, including feeding, watering, cleaning stalls and animal areas, grooming, removing waste, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the barn. The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to the well-being of the animals. This is a physically active position that requires someone who is comfortable working outdoors, performing routine barn duties, and taking initiative to ensure that all animals and their living areas are properly cared for.
