Professional Dog Walker & Pet Sitter North Hills Pet Care Pittsburgh North Hills, PA Part time, W2 employee North Hills Pet Care is growing, and we are looking to add multiple dependable, highly detail oriented Dog Walkers and Pet Sitters to our team. This is a position for someone who can work independently, follow detailed care instructions, communicate clearly, and be trusted to notice when something is wrong and make good decisions without constant supervision. Important Schedule Information This is a part time supplemental income position . Hours and assignments vary based on client demand, location, availability, and scheduling needs and are not guaranteed . We are currently looking for consistent availability during one or more of the following service blocks:
Morning:
6:00 AM to 9:00
AM Midday:
11:00 AM to 2:00
PM Evening:
4:00 PM to 7:00 PM You do not need to be available for every block. Please clearly indicate which blocks and days you can consistently commit to when completing our application. Most visits are scheduled within these general service blocks, but some assignments may fall outside of them depending on client needs. The number of visits in a block may vary based on demand and scheduling. Service Area Our service area spans Pittsburgh's North Hills and surrounding communities, including Cranberry Township, Wexford, Seven Fields, Franklin Park, Mars, Economy, Harmony, Zelienople, and nearby areas. Our service area continues to expand as the business grows. What You'll Do You will travel to clients' homes to provide scheduled dog walks and pet sitting visits.
Responsibilities may include:
Dog walking and exercise Feeding and refreshing water Potty breaks and litter box care Playtime, companionship, and enrichment Following detailed pet and household care instructions Basic home tasks requested as part of the visit Monitoring pets for changes in behavior, health, or environment Taking clear photos during each visit Writing thoughtful and accurate visit reports for clients Reviewing client information and previous visit notes before providing care Communicating promptly with management when something is unclear, unusual, or unsafe This Position May Be a Great Fit If You Are extremely detail oriented and notice small things other people may miss Can follow detailed written instructions carefully without needing repeated reminders Are comfortable working independently and making good judgment calls Communicate clearly and respond reliably Take ownership when something needs attention Are comfortable using mobile apps throughout the workday Are comfortable driving frequently between client homes Can manage your time while still providing complete, unrushed care Understand that consistency matters because pets and clients depend on us Are comfortable caring for a variety of pets, personalities, and household routines Want to be part of a professional pet care company rather than casually picking up occasional pet sitting jobs This Position Is Probably Not a Good Fit If You Frequently overlook details or need repeated reminders Have difficulty following multi step written instructions Are regularly late or unavailable during times you previously committed to Do not check messages consistently during working hours Are uncomfortable working alone in clients' homes Do not have reliable transportation Prefer a job where a manager is physically present throughout your shift Are looking for guaranteed hours or a traditional full time schedule Requirements At least 18 years old Valid driver's license Reliable personal vehicle and ability to travel throughout our service area Current auto insurance Smartphone with reliable data service Comfortable using mobile apps for scheduling, instructions, communication, photos, and reports Comfortable safely caring for pets with different needs, personalities, sizes, and energy levels Ability to work outdoors in normal Pittsburgh weather conditions Ability to pass required background screening Consistent availability for the days and service blocks you commit to Strong written communication skills Exceptional attention to detail Professional pet care experience is helpful, but reliability, judgment, communication, and the ability to follow detailed instructions are equally important. Compensation This is a W2 employee position . Dog walking and pet sitting visits are paid using our piece rate compensation structure: 20 minute visit: $12 30 minute visit: $14 60 minute visit: $20 Employees may also be eligible for additional pet pay, holiday premiums, cancellation pay, and tips. Training, meetings, Meet & Greets, and other qualifying non visit work are paid separately at $17 per hour according to our compensation plan. Training New team members receive paid onboarding and training before working independently with clients. Training includes our scheduling and communication systems, visit procedures, safety expectations, and hands on shadowing as appropriate.
