Summary As a Pet Care Counselor, you will be essential in providing high-quality animal care and ensuring the well-being of dogs in our facility. Your core skills in dog handling and care will be vital in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. Your role will involve engaging with dogs, their owners, ensuring that all animals receive the attention and care they deserve, and maintaining a healthy environment. This position requires excellent cleaning habits which is a very important part of creating a happy and healthy daycare environment. Pet care counselors will be crossed-trained in dog daycare, dog boarding, front desk operations, bather/brusher procedures and dog walking. Qualifications Must have proven job experience in dog care and handling, in either a professional daycare, boarding, or veterinarian environment. Experience in caring for at least a dozen dogs at a time is preferred. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Familiarity with dog training and grooming practices is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required in a pet care environment. Strong cleaning standards. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Previous veterinary experience or certification as a veterinary technician is advantageous. Applicant must be able to drive and will be background checked. We are open for daycare Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday 9-5. Plus we have boarders 24/7/365 days a year. Some holiday shifts may be required. Flexible availability is needed.
