Duties Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and cleaning routines Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their safety and comfort Monitor animals' health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management promptly Support outdoor activities such as walking dogs or supervising playtime in secure outdoor spaces We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a commitment to providing exceptional service to both pets and their owners. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the management or veterinary staff. Assist with customer service duties, including greeting pet owners and addressing their inquiries. Handle animals safely and effectively, utilizing proper restraint techniques when necessary. Support pet grooming and bathing as needed, ensuring pets are comfortable during the process. Participate in training sessions for dogs as directed by management. Perform heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance. Qualifications Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred but not required. Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is a plus. Experience in dog training or veterinary assistance is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed (up to 50 pounds). A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
