Job Description

This officer will be tasked with providing high-level administrative, operational, and strategic support to the Training Division Major, ensuring full organizational compliance with SCCJA certification and NAWLEA standards.
Job Duties Include:
Ensuring that all officer certifications are kept up to date and the proper paperwork is submitted to South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy (SCCJA) in a timely manner. Reviewing all Field Training Officer (FTO) reports and end of phase to keep officers in compliance with SCCJA and Title 23 standards. Ensuring that all training is published on SCDNR PowerDMS and certificates are issued appropriately. Running PowerDMS audits to ensure the agency has not missed any officer's training. Assisting Training Division with basic and advanced training to include pre basic, wildlife, marine law enforcement school, spring, summer and fall in-service dates. Assisting the Training Division with record keeping for all officers across the state to maintain compliance with NAWLEA and SCCJA standards. Working on special assignments for the Training Division as needed. A high school diploma and five (5) years experience as a DNR Law Enforcement Officer. SCCJA Basic Instructor Development Certification. SCCJA Field Training Officer Manager certification and IPTM Field Training Officer Manager certification required. Prefer one (1) year of DNR LE Officer experience in a supervisory level position.

Knowledge and understanding of SCCJA certification guidelines, NAWLEA guidelines, mandatory training requirements, and compliance standards. Knowledge and understanding of FTO program practices, daily observation reports (DORs), PowerReady software functionalities. Proficient in compiling, organizing, and securing digital electronic training files. Technical knowledge of PowerDMS for certification, training course management, policy dissemination and training workflows. Thorough understanding of the SC Title 50 Code of Laws and a functional knowledge of the state legislative process to ensure regulatory compliance. Advanced technical proficiency and computer skills to effectively navigate agency databases and modern workplace software.
