In this energetic role, you will deliver top-quality grooming services that enhance the health, hygiene, and appearance of our furry clients. Your expertise will help create a positive grooming experience for pets and their owners alike, ensuring every dog leaves looking and feeling fantastic. If you thrive in a lively environment and love working with animals, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your grooming talents and animal handling skills. Duties Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each dog's breed, size, and coat condition Handle dogs with care and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff Assess each pet's health and behavior, communicating any concerns or abnormalities to pet owners or veterinary professionals when necessary Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in excellent condition Provide exceptional customer service by explaining grooming procedures, recommending products, and addressing client questions or requests Assist with pet handling during check-in and check-out processes, answering phone calls, checking clients in and out Support team members with animal handling or basic pet care tasks when required, working as a team Qualifications Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with a strong portfolio of grooming styles and techniques Knowledge of dog training principles and it is highly desirable to understand animal behavior and health considerations Skilled in animal handling, restraint, pet grooming, and pet care practices across various breeds and sizes Ability to lift heavy objects safely while performing grooming tasks or moving animals as needed Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Previous kennel experience or pet sitting background is a plus, demonstrating versatility in animal care roles What we offer PTO after 1 year Aflac benefits Matching IRA Closed Sundays, nights, and major holidays Supportive and positive work environment Additional perks and growth opportunities Employee discounts and opportunity to bring your pup to work Strong attention to detail, patience, and compassion for animals are essential qualities for success in this role
