Duties Provide overnight in-home pet care, ensuring pets are fed, exercised, and comfortable throughout the night Monitor animals' behavior and health, recognizing signs of distress or illness and communicating with clients as needed Administer medications or veterinary treatments following detailed instructions from pet owners or veterinary professionals Handle animal restraint safely during grooming, veterinary visits, or behavior management Engage pets with appropriate exercise routines such as dog walking or outdoor play to promote physical activity Maintain detailed records of each pet's activities, feeding schedules, medication administration, and any concerns observed during shifts Respond promptly to emergency situations by contacting veterinary services or emergency responders when necessary Requirements Prior experience with animal handling across various species including dogs, cats, and horses is highly desirable Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior to manage different temperaments effectively Veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus for understanding medical needs and treatments Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for outdoor work or moving supplies and equipment Strong communication skills to update clients accurately and professionally about their pets' well-being Comfortable working overnight hours in clients' homes or outdoor environments; flexibility is essential Valid experience in kennel management, pet grooming, or pet sitting services preferred but not required Join our team if you're ready to bring your passion for animals into a lively role that makes a difference during the holiday season!
