Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Kennel Attendant to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. As a Kennel Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our animal patients through proper care, sanitation, and handling, supporting both our veterinary staff and pet owners. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals housed in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to uphold health standards. Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Handle animals gently and confidently, utilizing proper pet handling techniques to reduce stress and promote comfort. Support pet boarding services by monitoring animals' behavior and ensuring their safety during their stay. Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal care tasks such as grooming or basic pet grooming procedures. Perform outdoor work as needed, including cleaning outdoor kennels and maintaining the facility's exterior environment. Skills Prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, pet boarding facilities, or pet sitting roles. Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques to ensure safe interactions with pets of various temperaments. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or animals; team lifting experience is advantageous. Strong cleaning skills with an understanding of pet care facility sanitization protocols. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Experience with dog training or animal restraint techniques is beneficial but not required. Outdoor work experience that demonstrates reliability in maintaining outdoor kennel areas and facility grounds. Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
