Pet Care Specialist - Pet Sitting & Dog Walking Job Overview Happy Hoomans Pet Care is seeking dependable, compassionate, and energetic Pet Care Specialists to provide professional pet sitting and dog walking services in our clients' homes. This is a hands-on, active position involving the care of dogs, cats, and other household pets. Our Pet Care Specialists help pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away or at work. This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor role . Compensation is commission-based and paid per completed pet sitting visit or dog walk. Pet Care Specialists typically average approximately $16-$17 per hour based on their completed services and schedule , plus tips. Responsibilities Complete scheduled pet sitting visits and dog walks at clients' homes Provide fresh food and water according to each pet's care instructions Administer medications when required and properly trained Walk dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels Safely handle strong, large, excited, or energetic dogs Provide appropriate exercise, playtime, companionship, and affection Clean litter boxes, pet-related messes, food areas, crates, and enclosures Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, bathroom habits, or overall health Follow all client instructions and company safety procedures Write detailed, professional journal entries for pet owners after each service Take clear photos and videos of pets during visits Participate in gathering appropriate photos and video content for the company's social media pages Communicate promptly and professionally with management and clients Arrive on time and complete the full scheduled service Work independently while consistently following company standards Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Must be comfortable caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments Must be comfortable caring for cats and other types of household pets Must have the physical strength and confidence to safely walk strong or large dogs Must be comfortable working outdoors in hot, cold, rainy, and changing weather conditions Must have reliable personal transportation Must have a valid driver's license and current auto insurance Must have a dependable smartphone with internet access Must be able to pass a background check Must have strong English reading, writing, and communication skills Must be able to write clear, detailed, and professional pet care journal entries Must be dependable, punctual, responsible, and able to work independently Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions Must be comfortable taking photos and recording short videos during visits Must have reliable availability for assigned shifts and service windows Compensation and Benefits W-2 employee status Commission-based compensation paid per completed pet sitting visit or dog walk Average earnings of approximately $16-$17 per hour, depending on completed services and scheduling Tips earned in addition to regular compensation Hands-on pet care experience Training and opportunities to grow your animal-care knowledge A supportive, team-oriented work environment The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families Join Happy Hoomans Pet Care and become part of a team committed to providing safe, dependable, and compassionate care to every pet we serve.
