Job Description

Shift Supervisor Bark and Purr Pet Grooming and Spa Allen, TX Job Details Part-time | Full-time $13
  • $20 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Payment processing Greeting customers Hospitality industry experience Pet care facilities Full Job Description Job Overview Bark and Purr Pet Grooming & Boarding is Allen's premier pet wellness destination, and we're a certified Fear-Free grooming salon.
We're hiring a Shift Supervisor to run the front of the shop and oversee day-to-day operations, the person who makes sure the day runs smoothly from the first dog in the door to the last one picked up. You'll own the front desk experience, keep every pet moving through bath, dry, and groom on schedule, and be the person the team looks to when something needs a decision on the floor. What you'll do
  • Run the front desk: greet every client and pet by name, manage scheduling, and process payments accurately at checkout.
  • Oversee the flow of pets through the shop, arrival, bathing, grooming, and pickup, catching bottlenecks and clearing them before they become late dogs.
  • Coordinate staff across the floor for the shift: who's on, who needs help, and where attention is needed most.
  • Watch for Fear, Anxiety & Stress signals shop-wide and make sure our Fear-Free protocol is followed at every station.
  • Confirm every pet's information is accurate and up to date in our shop systems before and during their visit.
  • Own the pickup hand-back, the parent's last impression of the visit, including a quick, genuine update on how their pet did.
  • Handle day-to-day issues on the floor: a scheduling conflict, an upset client, a staffing gap, and know what to decide yourself versus what to bring to ownership.
  • Help open and close the shop, and keep the space clean, calm, and running the way it should. What we're looking for
  • Real experience running a shift or a front-of-house team, ideally in a pet care, salon, spa, or hospitality setting.
  • A calm, decisive presence, you notice problems early and you're comfortable making a call.
  • Genuine love for animals and a Fear-Free, client-first mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, both with clients and with the team you're coordinating.
  • Comfortable being the point person during a busy shift, without needing everything spelled out for you.
  • Comfortable in a wet, humid environment; able to stand for extended periods. Compensation & perks
  • Hourly rate per offer letter.
  • Pet Care Benefit:
employee dogs attend daycare at no cost during your shift.
  • Personal Pet Grooming:
use of shop equipment for your own pets when available.
  • Retail Discount:
employee discount on all Bark and Purr products.
  • Training Sponsorship:
company-sponsored Fear-Free certification and industry training.
  • A real leadership role in a growing, pet-first business, not just another retail shift.
Come lead the pack If you're someone people trust to keep a busy room running smoothly, and you want that to actually matter, we'd love to meet you. Apply today and help us run Bark and Purr the way it's meant to be run. Bark and Purr is an equal-opportunity employer.
