An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals
- Interact with customers and provide excellent customer service
Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
- Knowledge of basic animal care and behavior
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team Please note that this position may require heavy lifting at times.
