Kennel Technician / Pet Care attendant and Shift lead
Job Description
Fluffy's Pet Resort in Fort Worth, TX is seeking experienced Operations Supervisor / Shift Managers as well as Pet Care Specialists to lead and perform daily operations in our dog daycare and boarding facility. These are hands-on roles, maintaining high standards for animal care and facility operations, supporting customer service, and helping grow the business through strong client experience, online reputation management, social media, and local marketing efforts. Responsibilities Oversee safe dog handling, playgroups, boarding care, feeding, medication support, and sanitation Ensure compliance with care standards, safety procedures, and vaccination/admission requirements Manage shift flow, opening/closing routines, staffing priorities, and issue resolutionDeliver excellent customer service and handle client concerns professionally Support tours, new client onboarding, and service education Assist with social media content, Yelp/Google review management, and local marketing initiatives Help improve team performance, operational consistency, and business growth Administrative & Operational Support Help maintaining staffing coverage, daily checklists, supply levels, shift documentation, and adherence to SOPs Help maintain accurate records related to incidents, medications, feedings, pet notes, customer concerns, and operational issues Ensure lobby, play areas, boarding areas, and back-of-house spaces remain clean, organized, and inspection-ready Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to strengthen safety, consistency, labor efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
Prior experience working in a dog daycare, boarding facility, kennel, veterinary clinic, pet resort, grooming shop, animal hospital, or similar pet care environment Strong hands-on knowledge of dog behavior, playgroup dynamics, safe handling, and animal body language Excellent judgment, situational awareness, and decision-making skills Strong customer service and conflict-resolution abilities Comfortable handling difficult conversations with clients and coaching staff directly and professionally Organized, dependable, and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks at onceBasic comfort with technology, scheduling systems, customer messaging, review platforms, and social media/business tools Ability to maintain professionalism in a physically demanding, high-energy animal care environment Experience with boarding/daycare evaluations, medication support, enrichment programming, and operational compliance is strongly preferred Experience contributing to online reputation management, social media content, referral programs, or local business marketing is strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and remain active for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry supplies and/or assist with dogs weighing 50+ pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to cleaning chemicals, pet hair, dander, barking, and varying temperatures Ability to safely handle dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and energy levelsSchedule Expectations This business operates seven days a week, and the supervisor must be dependable and flexible enough to support key operational periods, including weekends, holidays, opening shifts, and closing shifts as needed. Fluffy's public operations include daily care, tours, evaluations, check-ins/check-outs, and structured routines that require strong staffing coordination and hands-on leadership.
