As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for the overall grooming and care of pets, ensuring they look their best while also maintaining their health and well-being. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, providing recommendations for care and maintenance. Handle pets safely and effectively during grooming sessions, using proper restraint techniques as needed. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use. Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs and any observed health concerns. Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, fostering positive relationships to encourage repeat business. Assist in the care of animals in the facility, including feeding, walking, and monitoring their behavior. Skills Strong knowledge of pet care practices, including grooming techniques and animal handling skills. Experience in pet sitting or animal care is preferred but not required. Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or multiple pets. Familiarity with animal restraint methods to ensure safety during grooming sessions. Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a kennel environment is a plus. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
