If you love dogs, have great customer service skills and when see a mangy mutt you think "I could turn that mongrel into a masterpiece," you're an experienced groomer. As a dog groomer at Camp Bow Wow you will shampoo, trim and shape fur, clip nails to make dogs look good. Pet groomers are great with animals and people, listening to the owners' requests for how they want their pet to look, and keeping the animals calm in what can be a stressful situation. Primary Responsibilities Provide expert styling services to keep pets healthy and happy while looking great! Shampoo / bathe dogs. Combs, clips, trims, and shapes dogs' coats to groom dogs, using knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming techniques and styles. Recommends the most appropriate cutting pattern to achieve desired /requested style. Clips dog's hair according to determined pattern, using electric clippers, comb, and barber's shears. Combs and shapes dog's coat. Talks to dog or uses other techniques to calm animal. Cleaning tools, equipment and grooming area. Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Patience and genuine care for animals. High standards of cleanliness and professionalism. Excellent customer service skills are required. Ability to talk with pet parents and provide a calming experience for the dogs. Knowledge of the industry and trends. Requirements 5 years experience. Normal working hours between 8am to 5pm but must be flexible to work any day of the week including weekends to meet business need. Attendance at evening and weekend events may be required.
