Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic pet care team as an Assistant Kennel Manager, where your passion for animals and leadership skills will shine! In this energetic role, you will support the daily operations of our pet boarding and care facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and loving environment for all animals. You'll lead a team of pet care professionals, oversee animal handling and behavior management, and maintain high standards of sanitation and customer service. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on pets and their owners while developing your expertise in animal care and kennel operations. Responsibilities Assist in supervising daily kennel activities, including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and exercise routines for pets. Support team members in animal handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safety and comfort for animals and staff. Oversee kennel sanitation procedures to maintain a clean, hygienic environment that meets health standards. Coordinate pet boarding reservations, check-ins, and check-outs with excellent customer service skills. Train and mentor staff on proper pet care techniques, animal behavior recognition, and safety protocols. Assist with outdoor work such as yard cleaning, dog walking, and ensuring secure fencing to prevent escapes. Support team lifting efforts when moving heavy supplies or large animals safely and efficiently. Ensure compliance with animal restraint procedures and assist with pet grooming as needed. Experience Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly valued. Hands-on kennel experience or pet sitting background is preferred. Familiarity with dog training, animal behavior assessment, and pet grooming techniques is a plus. Experience in animal handling, pet care facilities sanitization, and outdoor work environments is beneficial. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work collaboratively in a team setting. Knowledge of animal restraint methods and pet boarding procedures enhances your fit for this role. No facial piercings permitted. Pay:
$35,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
