Overview Join our dynamic animal care team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional care and comfort to our furry guests! In this energetic role, you will ensure the well-being, cleanliness, and safety of animals in our pet boarding and care facility. Your enthusiasm for animals, combined with your strong work ethic, will help create a welcoming environment where pets feel safe and loved. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your animal handling skills while working in a lively, team-oriented setting. Duties Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and grooming Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety Monitor animal behavior to identify signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly Assist with pet boarding by checking pets in and out, updating records, and ensuring all needs are met Support pet sitting duties by engaging animals in play and exercise to promote mental stimulation Perform outdoor work such as walking dogs, cleaning outdoor enclosures, and maintaining facility grounds Use team lifting techniques when moving heavy supplies or large animals to prevent injury Ensure compliance with health and safety standards related to animal care facility sanitization and hygiene practices Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and answering their questions with professionalism Assist technicians with duties Experience Previous veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician is highly desirable Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling demonstrates your ability to manage diverse animals confidently Knowledge of pet grooming techniques and animal restraint methods enhances your ability to care for pets effectively Familiarity with kennel operations, pet boarding procedures, and animal behavior is preferred Outdoor work experience helps you adapt to various weather conditions while caring for animals outside or in open enclosures Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy supplies or animals is essential Strong customer service skills ensure positive interactions with pet owners and visitors Join us if you're passionate about animal welfare, thrive in active environments, and want to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families!
Pay:
$8.00 - $10.00 per hour
