Job Overview As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and care of animals in our facility. This position involves working closely with a variety of pets, primarily dogs, and requires a passion for animal care and handling. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals while providing them with the attention and care they need. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with animal restraint during examinations or grooming sessions. Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and care. Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets' well-being and address any questions or concerns. Perform heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning equipment. Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both staff and animals. Skills Proficient in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and restraint. Experience as a veterinary technician is advantageous but not required. Strong background in animal care, demonstrating compassion and responsibility. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with kennel maintenance. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
