Job Description

Forest Crossing Animal Hospital is seeking a qualified kennel technician to join our full-service small animal hospital serving The Woodlands, TX. Duties:
  • Provide daily care and supervision for animals in the kennel facility
  • Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel
  • Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as needed
  • Provide basic training and socialization for dogs
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and treatments
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with animals, such as in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet care facility is preferred
  • Knowledge of animal handling techniques and basic pet care practices
  • Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments safely and effectively
  • Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform repetitive tasks
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience as a kennel assistant or in a related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavior modification methods
