Duties Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, watering, exercising, and administering medications as directed. Assist with dog training activities to promote good behavior and socialization. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas by cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing supplies regularly. Support pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and looking their best. Offer pet sitting services by monitoring animals' behavior and providing companionship during their stay. Assist veterinary staff with basic procedures, including animal restraint during examinations or treatments. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and care routines. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with larger animals safely. Observe animals closely for signs of illness or distress and report findings promptly to veterinary professionals. Maintain detailed records of animal care activities, treatments, and behavioral observations. Requirements Prior experience in kennel work or animal handling is highly preferred; familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant roles is a plus. Knowledge of dog training techniques, pet grooming, and basic veterinary procedures is desirable. Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments. Experience in pet sitting or providing comprehensive pet care demonstrates dedication to animal well-being. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, standing, walking, bending, and crouching for extended periods. Basic understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques to ensure safety at all times.
