Job Details:

This will be an ongoing position, not a short-term gig. The initial contract is 6 months, with the option to renew. We are currently looking for someone with a flexible schedule to help out with midday walks on our busiest days, Tues/Wed/Thursday.

• Applicants must have a personal vehicle, bike, or e-scooter.

This role involves traveling between multiple client homes throughout our service area. Our walkers are paid per appointment, not hourly, so relying solely on public transportation or walking between appointment locations makes the job inefficient and financially impractical. (Our service area is Del Ray, Old Town, Belle Haven, and Potomac Yard Alexandria Virginia.) The ideal candidate: Must have reliable transportation (personal car, bike, or e-scooter) Be able to follow detailed client care instructions, multi-task, work independently while problem solving Have a love and appreciation for animals and interest in learning behavioral and training techniques Be honest and reliable, eager to learn, positive attitude and good communication Have consistent weekly availability Enjoy exercise and being outdoors in ALL weather Have a smart phone for daily communication/maps/scheduling Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing Pass a background check Be over the age of 18 Are punctual and possess excellent time management skills Work can include midday dog walks, dog-park adventures, pet taxi, and cat care. There are additional opportunities to board in your home or do overnights in the client's home, as well as evening and weekend walks/cat care. Pay is per walk, but averages $20/hr and upwards. Walkers/sitters keep 100% of tips.
