We are open to experienced as well as inexperienced candidates. Experienced candidates start at $14.00/hr, while inexperienced candidates start at $12.77/hr. On-the-job paid training is provided! Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling tailored to each pet's breed and individual needs Safely handle animals using proper restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety during grooming procedures Assess each pet's condition and communicate any health concerns or skin issues to pet owners or veterinary staff. Prioritize humanity over vanity. Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area by disinfecting tools, tubs, and workspaces regularly Provide exceptional customer service by explaining grooming processes, answering questions, and addressing client requests with enthusiasm Experience Previous experience in pet grooming is preferred; certification from a recognized grooming program is a plus Knowledge of dog training techniques and dog handling skills to manage pets effectively during grooming sessions Familiarity with animal restraint methods, pet sitting, kennel work, or heavy lifting related to animal care environments Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and guinea pigs Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients This job opening is for our mobile grooming unit, where you will travel with us to Alleghany, Botetourt, and Bath counties. Typical days start around 7:30/8:00am and end at 4:00-5:00pm. A daily schedule is always readily available via Outlook Calendar.
