Position:
Pet Care Professional What We Offer:
Competitive pay: $21 - $33 per hour plus tips and $2000 to $3000 a month, with high earning potential based on availability. 30-minute visits start at $15 per visit, increasing to $16 within your first year. Most staff average $21-$33 per hour plus tip. Higher compensation for major holidays and last-minute requests. Keep 100% of client gratuities. Earn bonuses for client/staff referrals, and achieving performance goals. Additional bonuses for obtaining Pet First Aid and Pet CPR certifications. Work as an independent contractor. Discounted pet sitting for your furry pals.
Responsibilities:
Enter the homes of clients and visit with their pets for varying lengths of time (usually 20- 60 minutes each) Walk pets as requested Feed pets as requested Check that pets have ample, clean water supply and refill as necessary Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets in the absence of their owners Clean any accidents or damage discovered in homes of our clients Have the ability to communicate effectively with Kate's K9 team members and clients, by returning emails, phone calls and text messages promptly. Be 100% reliable (our pet sitters do their best to cover in cases of emergencies, but this is not a job where "calling out sick" is tolerated, as the pets in your care depend on you. Ensure a safe and positive environment while walking dogs. Provide thorough and attentive care for cats and other small pets such as guinea pigs, gerbils, and hamsters. Perform house-sitting duties upon client request. Transport pets when needed. Have full availability during the day, evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred. Adapt to varying client demands with a flexible schedule just as last minute requests. Requirements Northern VA residence within 10 miles of 22310 or near Kingstown is preferred Must have your own, reliable mode of transportation to perform the duties and responsibilities associated with this role Must have your own reliable smartphone with internet access and data plan Must be extremely detail oriented Able to follow detailed instructions Must be responsible, reliable, and dependable Must be timely and punctual Must be able to self-manage Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be compassionate about animals Must feel comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large animals Must be willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions Must be looking to stay for at least a year, however longer is preferred Must be able to submit to criminal background check A perfect opportunity to start or further develop a career in pet care Candidates that have least owned a dog or has prior pet care experience are highly encouraged to apply.
