Job Description

Dude Ranch Pet Resort in Glen Allen, VA, is seeking a dependable team member for a part-time overnight position. As an established leader in the dog daycare and boarding industry, Dude Ranch has built a strong reputation for quality care, safety, cleanliness, and personalized attention. Our facility is staffed 24 hours daily. We offer safe, luxurious care for all our pets. The Dude Ranch Pet Resort operates on over 45 private acres of space. We have won Best of Glen Allen multiple years, Super Service Awards, and are the premier provider for TV's Animal Planet.
Schedule/Details:
This role works approximately 20-25 hours per week, with three overnight shifts, typically from 10:45 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Scheduling may include any day of the week. This position is central to maintaining our commitment to 24/7 staffed operations and ensuring the resort is clean, comfortable, and ready for the day ahead. A passion for pets and a strong sense of empathy for animals is required.
Duties:
Complete thorough overnight cleaning and custodial work throughout the resort Maintain clean, bright, sanitary, and organized guest areas Remove waste, clean floors and surfaces, and restock supplies Ensure the facility is prepared for opening each morning Monitor pets and provide attentive overnight care Follow safety, sanitation, and animal-care procedures Safely handle and walk dogs as needed Observe animal behavior and report concerns promptly Answer telephones and communicate professionally with clients Work independently while maintaining consistent standards Cleaning and custodial responsibilities are a major focus of this position.
Ideal Candidate Information:
We would prefer a candidate who is comfortable working an overnight shift or has done so in the past. Knowledge of animal behavior and safe dog handling Experience with dog walking, pet boarding, daycare, or animal care The ability to perform physically active cleaning duties Professional telephone and client communication skills The ability to work independently and follow established procedures In case of a rare animal emergency, consistent access to a safe, insured, reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license Available growth and benefits: Starting pay: $13.50-$15.00 per hour, depending on experience and performance New staff train at $13.50 and will reach $14+ after training Paid training Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Employee discount The opportunity to join a respected, established pet resort team dedicated to excellent animal care We promote from within, and this can be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their career working with animals.
