Job Overview Join our dedicated team as an Animal Shelter Attendant and become a vital part of our mission to provide compassionate care and support for animals in need. In this energetic and rewarding role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and caring environment for shelter dogs and cats while assisting with daily animal care routines. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help ensure that every animal receives the love, attention, and proper handling they deserve, making a real difference in their lives and the lives of prospective pet owners. Part-time approx 16-24 hours per week. Must be available mornings 8 am - Noon and some weekends. Responsibilities Work as a team member to provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, walking, and socializing Handle animals safely and humanely, utilizing proper techniques to prevent injury or stress Assist with dog training activities to promote good behavior and socialization skills Provide basic medical tasks such as administering medications or assisting during examinations Maintain accurate records of animal intake, adoption status, medical treatments, and behavioral observations Conduct pet grooming, including bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to enhance animal comfort and appearance Engage with visitors by providing information about animals available for adoption and answering questions about pet care Experience Prior experience in animal handling or kennel work is highly desirable Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures will be a strong asset Background in animal restraint, pet sitting, or pet grooming demonstrates your ability to care for diverse animals effectively Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (40-50 lbs) when necessary for cleaning supplies or moving animals safely Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with visitors and potential adopters Applicants must be 18+ years old, have reliable transportation, and be available mornings and some weekends.
