Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Kennel Technician working weekend hours, where your passion for animal care will shine! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional care and attention to our furry residents, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and happy during their stay. Your energetic approach and love for animals will help create a welcoming environment for pets and peace of mind for their owners. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in animal handling, pet grooming, and kennel management while working in a lively, team-oriented setting. Weekend Availability Required (Thursday-Sunday) This position requires consistent availability Thursday through Sunday. Weekend hours are mandatory. After successfully completing training, employees receive a weekend stipend in addition to their regular pay. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercise, and administering medications as needed Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a healthy environment Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal behavior understanding Assist with pet boarding procedures, including check-in and check-out processes Support pet grooming activities such as bathing and brushing to keep animals comfortable and well-maintained Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff promptly Engage in outdoor work activities like walking dogs and cleaning outdoor kennels to promote physical activity and hygiene Requirements Prior experience with veterinary care, veterinary technician work, pet sitting or animal handling is highly preferred Knowledge of dog training, pet grooming, animal restraint techniques, and kennel operations is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving supplies or animals safely Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Experience with cleaning protocols specific to pet care facilities and sanitization standards Outdoor work experience involving dog walking or outdoor kennel maintenance is advantageous Passion for animal care with a positive attitude and energetic work ethic Join us in making a difference in the lives of pets and their families! Pay:
$14.00 - $17.00 per hour
