Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dog Groomer to join our dog grooming salon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pet grooming, animal handling, and customer service, with a genuine love for animals. This role involves providing professional grooming services to dogs of all breeds and sizes, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and drying of dogs according to client specifications Handle animals safely and gently during grooming procedures, utilizing proper restraint techniques Assess each pet's health and behavior to ensure safe grooming practices Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work area Provide exceptional customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and recommendations Ensure all grooming equipment is properly maintained and stored after use Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming, dog handling, or animal care Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal restraint methods Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work confidently with pets of various temperaments Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 40 pounds) when necessary for equipment or animal handling Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Compassionate attitude toward animals and their owners Minimum of 3 years of professional dog grooming experience Demonstrated expertise in bathing, brushing, clipping, hand-scissoring, trimming, and breed-standard styling Proven ability to safely handle dogs of all sizes, coat types, and temperaments Strong knowledge of canine coat care, skin conditions, and proper grooming techniques Commitment to maintaining a calm, safe, and comfortable environment for every pet Excellent customer service and communication skills when working with pet owners Portfolio required showcasing previous grooming work (before-and-after photos preferred)
