Job Description

The Well-Trained Dog & Pet Care is hiring dog walkers and pet sitters to service clients throughout the Roanoke Valley. Are you someone your friends call when they need someone to trust with their pets? We are a busy, professional dog walking and pet sitting company looking for our next pet care superstar! You'll work a flexible schedule, be part of a supportive team, and know that every visit you do matters to a family that trusts us completely. If you show up on time, communicate like a pro, and treat every pet like your own, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
Working as part of a team to provide quality care to our clients. Providing walks during the day as well as feedings and oral medications as required. Able to walk for long periods of time and able to work during under any weather conditions (within safety limits of course) Cleaning up after dogs and scooping litter boxes Exemplary communication skills Extremely detailed oriented & able to read and understand instructions Following directions from your supervisor. Visits are as early as 7am and as late as 9pm.
Requirements:
Must love pets their people Experienced with and confident handling dogs of all sizes and breeds. Must have a smart phone Pass a criminal background check (cost covered by employer) Lease or own a vehicle to use for work Able to work in all weather conditions Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed Our commitment to our clients: At The Well-Trained Dog & Pet Care, we are committed to being there when our clients need us. We are therefore looking for staff who share that same commitment to be there for our clients

Does this sound like you? Would you like to be there to help local pet owners care for their pets and be the best Pet Sitter/Dog Walker you can? If you're ready to get started, complete the application on our website and we will contact you for an initial chat about your availability and suitability for the role. Pay varies per length of visit. For instance, a 60-minute visit is $14. All tips go to the employee. The amount you make depends on your availability and our clients' needs. We also provide worker's compensation and you receive a discount if we watch your pets when you're out of town. Applicants must live in one of the areas we service ; Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem, Vinton, or Daleville.
Note:
This position is not suited to someone who is looking for set hours each week, for example you want a job working 10-4pm every day. It is more suited to someone who has lots of flexibility to respond to our clients' needs and would love to hang out with pets all day.
