This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a weekday job, is in school, works in the animal-care industry, or simply wants a part-time job that is more interesting than sitting behind a desk. You'll work independently, spend plenty of time outside, and get paid to hang out with animals. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday or Sunday. Because weekend shifts take place outside of our primary weekday operating hours, Weekend Pet Care Specialists need to be especially confident and self-sufficient. All Pet Care Specialists work independently, but Operations support is more limited on weekends. You should be comfortable relying on your training, experience, resources, and good judgment to handle routine questions and situations independently, while knowing when an issue needs to be escalated. What You'll Do Visit clients' homes on your scheduled weekend days to care for their pets. Walk dogs and provide exercise, play, companionship, feeding, and fresh water. Care for dogs, cats, and other household pets according to detailed client instructions. Keep pets safe and secure during every visit. Enter clients' homes respectfully and maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Review your schedule and client information before each visit. Check in and out of visits using our mobile app. Complete Pet Care Journals with detailed updates and photos after each visit. Complete assigned visits within the client's requested time window. Manage your time and route efficiently throughout the day. Communicate with Operations when questions, concerns, or unexpected situations arise. Use your training, experience, and good judgment to independently handle routine situations that arise during visits. Recognize when a situation requires additional support and communicate promptly when escalation is needed. Follow all safety procedures, company policies, leash laws, and pet-care protocols. Maintain the tools and supplies needed for each visit. Complete all required training and stay current on company procedures. Provide a professional, friendly experience for every client and pet. Perform other duties as assigned. Your Schedule This is a weekend-only, part-time position. You must be available for a minimum of 6 hours per weekend, with consistent weekend-day availability.

4:00 PM-10:00 PM Your specific schedule will be based on your availability and business needs. Working Independently & Weekend Support All Becky's Pet Care Specialists are expected to work independently. You will be responsible for managing your assigned visits, traveling between clients' homes, following care instructions, documenting your work, and providing excellent care without a supervisor physically accompanying you. As a Weekend Pet Care Specialist, you should therefore be especially comfortable: Using your training and experience to make sound decisions. Handling routine questions and situations independently. Staying calm and resourceful when something doesn't go exactly as planned. Determining when you can resolve something yourself and when Operations needs to be contacted. Following established procedures rather than relying on someone to walk you through each situation. What You Bring Previous hands-on experience with animals is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates have experience caring for or handling pets through previous employment, volunteering, personal pet care, veterinary work, rescue, training, grooming, shelter work, or another animal-related setting. We're looking for someone who: Has a genuine love and respect for animals. Has hands-on experience caring for or handling pets. Is confident safely handling and walking dogs of varying sizes, breeds, energy levels, and temperaments. Is comfortable working independently and managing responsibilities without constant supervision. Can confidently follow detailed pet and home-care instructions. Has strong judgment and can make responsible decisions when unexpected situations arise. Is comfortable troubleshooting routine situations independently, particularly when Operations support is limited. Knows when a situation can be handled independently and when to contact Operations for support. Is dependable and understands that pets and their owners are counting on them to show up. Has strong communication skills and responds promptly when communication is needed. Is organized and able to manage multiple visits throughout the day. Has a reliable, insured vehicle for traveling between clients' homes. Has a valid driver's license. Has a High School Diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements This is an active job. You should be comfortable walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and using your hands throughout the day. You must be able to lift, move, pull, or push a minimum of 25 pounds. You will work primarily in clients' homes and outdoors and may be exposed to heat, cold, rain, snow, and other seasonal weather conditions.
