Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the skills necessary to provide a safe and nurturing environment for pets. This role involves various responsibilities related to the care and handling of animals in a kennel setting, ensuring their well-being and comfort. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising dogs. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals Engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries regarding their pets. Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and scheduling appointments. Participate in team meetings to discuss animal care protocols and improvements. Cleaning and sanitizing the entire facility is required for every shift. Qualifications Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred; kennel experience is a plus. Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary practices is beneficial. Familiarity with pet grooming, pet sitting, or veterinary assistant roles will be advantageous. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for animal handling and care tasks. Compassionate attitude towards animals with a commitment to their welfare. Must be able to work flexible hours, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
