Overview Join our vibrant pet care team as a Dog Bather, where your passion for animals and dedication to exceptional grooming will shine! Your expertise will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pets and their owners alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal handling, grooming, and customer service within a supportive team dedicated to animal well-being. Duties Safely handle dogs of all breeds and temperaments during bathing, grooming, and drying processes Perform pet grooming tasks including bathing, brushing, trimming nails, cleaning ears, and styling coats according to breed standards or owner preferences Assist with animal restraint to ensure safety for both pets and staff during grooming procedures Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and bathing areas to promote hygiene and prevent the spread of infections Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare instructions Monitor pets' behavior throughout the grooming process, recognizing signs of stress or discomfort and responding appropriately Support other team members with general animal handling duties such as kennel cleaning or assisting with pet sitting when needed Requirements Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus for understanding pet behavior and health considerations Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain dogs during grooming procedures Experience working with veterinary technicians or veterinary assistants enhances your ability to recognize health issues Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for moving equipment or large dogs safely Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude Basic knowledge of pet care practices including pet sitting, animal restraint, and general animal care procedures Must be detail-oriented with a commitment to providing high-quality grooming services in a safe environment This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to make a positive impact on pets' lives while building valuable skills in animal care and grooming.
