Hiring:
Dog Walker & Pet Sitter Madison, WI — EAST and WEST side staff needed. Paw Pals is looking for a dependable, animal-loving team member to join our pet care crew. This is a mobile, independent role. You'll drive between clients' homes throughout your shift, providing care for pets in their own environment — dog walks, cat visits, and general pet sitting. No two days are exactly the same, and you'll often be working on your own, so reliability and good judgment matter.
WHAT THE JOB LOOKS LIKE
- Traveling to clients' homes to walk dogs, provide cat visits including feeding, litter, and companionship, and care for other pets as needed
- Following detailed care instructions — feeding schedules, medications, routines
- Sending visit updates with notes and photos through our app after every visit
- Working in all weather conditions, year-round — rain, snow, heat included Schedules vary week to week based on client demand.
As your route grows, hours become more consistent. This is not a fixed-shift job — flexibility is key.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 18 or older with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Comfortable handling pets of all sizes and temperaments
- Able to work independently and manage your time between visits
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Strong communicator — with clients, pets, and our team
- Smartphone required for scheduling and visit reports
- Must pass a background check and commit to the role for at least 6 months
AVAILABILITY
Our busiest window is weekdays between 10am and 2pm. We ask that candidates are available to cover at least part of this window on a minimum of 2 weekdays. Shifts can flex — for example 8am-2pm, 10am-3pm, 12pm-4pm, or 2pm-6pm — as long as they overlap with that midday window. Morning, evening, and weekend availability is a bonus.

Are you able to meet this requirement? Our primary dog walking hours fall between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on weekdays. To be considered, we ask that you are available to cover at least part of this window on a minimum of 2 weekdays. Shifts can be flexible — for example 8am-2pm, 10am-3pm, 12pm-4pm, or 1pm-6pm — as long as they overlap with that midday window. Please share which days and times work best for you. This role requires walking for extended periods — typically 20 to 30 minutes at a time — while managing one or two dogs on leash, in all weather conditions. This is a physical, active job.
