We have flexible work schedules and competitive commissions. Ideal candidates are reliable, care deeply for animals, and strive to provide excellent customer service by developing strong professional relationships with our clients. All of our groomers work with dogs, and working with cats is optional.
Duties include:
Coordinate appointment scheduling directly with clients and develop recurring clients Ensure the safety and security of animals by using proper restraints and procedures Independently perform all aspects of grooming, including baths, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, nail trims, toothbrushing, spot shaves, brush outs, and hand scissoring Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the grooming salon Confidently communicate with clients about their preferences and the result of the groom Independently resolve any client concerns about groom quality Use computer software to record client contact information, schedule appointments, and process payments Keep accurate records regarding client preferences, animal health, and animal behavior Support other groomers in providing excellent customer service and maintaining a friendly, professional salon Must have: Well-developed understanding of dog behavior and appropriate handling Ability to groom dogs of all sizes and breeds, either to the AKC breed standard or to the client's preference Ability to bend and stand for long periods of time Ability to lift animals up to 50 pounds and safely facilitate movement of heavier animals This job requires a completed grooming apprenticeship or certification from a reputable grooming school and at least 1 year of professional grooming experience. In addition, evidence of and/or enthusiasm for continued skill development is preferred.
