Job Description

Job Responsibilities Animal Care Provide animals with food, water, enrichment, and other essential daily needs. This includes transferring animals in and out of kennels to outside play and enrichment areas. Ability to handle scared/timid/unsocialized dogs. Laundry, dish washing, cleaning floors and kennels daily. Help animals find new homes via our first come, first served adoption process. Meet with potential adopters to discuss animals and adoption plans. Commit to a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental approach with all guests, callers, and coworkers. Maintain clean animal housing following our high-standard cleaning guidelines. At times, this may include infectious disease protocol to keep the pets safe and free of illness or disease. Welcome new arrivals via owner surrenders, stray intake, transfers from other organizations, and end-of-life services. Administer medical treatments under the direction of a veterinarian. Other duties as assigned Office Duties Maintain detailed and accurate records in our animal management software Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate staff and channels Familiarize yourself with shelter programs, services, and fees Other duties as assigned Qualifications Availability to work a mix of weekdays, weekends, and holidays Must be able to routinely carry 25lbs and up to 50lbs Must be committed to our organizational mission and values Prior animal care experience is a plus Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply Work schedule is: Sunday - Saturday each week
