Get paid to hang out with dogs. Locally owned active job with dogs, hands on team. House of Hounds is looking for a friendly, dependable team member who can help at the front desk and jump in with our daycare dogs when needed. You will help create a safe, fun, well run environment for dogs and a smooth experience for pet parents. We have two locations, Nitro and Charleston. If you are open to helping at both sometimes, that is a big plus.

Expected Hours:
10 to 40 hours per week
Pay:
Starts at $11.00 per hour and can increase quickly with exceptional performance.

Nitro and Charleston. We can schedule you at one location or both depending on your availability.
Front Desk and Customer Service:
Welcome clients and visitors with a warm, professional attitude Check dogs in and out as they arrive and leave Answer phones, return messages, and book appointments Help keep schedules organized for grooming and daycare Keep the lobby and front desk clean, organized, and presentable Help customers with questions and solve problems with a calm, helpful mindset Work closely with the team so the day runs smoothly
Daycare and Dog Handling:
Supervise playgroups and monitor behavior and body language Group dogs appropriately based on size, play style, and temperament Provide enrichment activities that keep dogs engaged and set them up for success Keep dogs safe, comfortable, and well cared for Clean up after dogs throughout the shift and keep play areas sanitary Move dogs between areas as needed Take dogs up and down one flight of stairs to the salon Help in daycare during downtime at the desk Stay active and engaged throughout your shift Work primarily with a group of dogs. We rotate staff through areas so you get support, but you also need to be comfortable working independently.

Experience and Training:
Experience not required Training is hands on and last several weeks Working with dogs is physical and hands on, and it includes a lot of cleaning. We want people who truly enjoy it Review timeline is 60 days with potential pay increase based on performance, attendance and reliability
