General Manager - Pet Care & Hospitality Urban Tails | Casper, Wyoming Full-Time | Salaried |
On-Site Starting Salary:
$40,000-$42,500 DOE Quarterly performance bonus opportunity after initial 90-day operational and training period Urban Tails is seeking an experienced, people-focused General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our growing pet care facility in Casper. We're looking for someone who can lead a team, build accountability, deliver an exceptional client experience, and keep a busy service-based operation running smoothly. Pet care experience is not required. Strong leadership, management, and customer-service experience matter more to us than knowing our industry on day one. We can teach the right person how Urban Tails operates. About Urban Tails Urban Tails is a locally owned pet care facility providing lodging, day camp, day stays, and enrichment-focused services for dogs and cats. Since opening in 2023, we've built our business on thoughtful care, strong relationships, safety, and an experience families can trust. Our General Manager plays a key role in protecting that culture while helping our team and business continue to grow. What You'll Do The General Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Urban Tails and works closely with the CEO and leadership team.
Responsibilities include:
Lead, coach, support, and hold team members accountable Oversee daily facility operations and service standards Support scheduling and staffing needs Manage employee performance, development, and reviews Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training Maintain a high level of client service and help resolve concerns Support operational policies, procedures, and safety standards Oversee facility organization, maintenance needs, and supply coordination Help ensure consistent communication across departments Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement Support marketing, client communication, and business-growth initiatives Step into operational areas when needed to support the team Who We're Looking For The right person is a confident, approachable leader who can balance people, operations, and customer experience. You should be comfortable making decisions, having difficult conversations when necessary, and creating structure without losing the personal feel of a small business.
Required:
Minimum 2 years of relevant leadership or management experience High school diploma or GED Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to lead and develop employees Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications
Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree Management experience in hospitality, retail, service, healthcare, small business, or another customer-focused environment Experience with scheduling, hiring, employee development, or performance management Previous pet-care experience is welcome, but not required Schedule This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. The schedule will typically be Monday through Friday and primarily daytime hours, with some flexibility based on business needs. Because Urban Tails operates seven days a week and is year-round, occasional opening, closing, weekend, holiday, or peak-period coverage may be required.
