DogsOfTucson.com & WorkingForWags.com - Tucson, AZ. Do you have a love for dogs and a knack for leadership? Are you equally comfortable directing a team, greeting clients, and rolling up your sleeves to keep things running smoothly? We're looking for an experienced, upbeat, and organized Manager to oversee daily operations, lead our team, and ensure our pups, pet parents, and staff all have an amazing experience. About the
Role:
This is a hands-on management position in a dynamic, dog-friendly environment. You'll oversee both our indoor dog park/daycare/boarding (DogsOfTucson.com) and our in-home pet sitting, walking, & pet care services branch (WorkingForWags.com). You'll be the go-to person for staff support, scheduling, training, and problem-solving—while also stepping into the action when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Training:
Recruit, train, and mentor team members for both Rufferee (dog play) and Member Concierge (client care) roles.
Daily Operations:
Ensure smooth opening/closing, schedule coverage, and maintain high safety and cleanliness standards.
Customer Service Excellence:
Greet clients, resolve concerns quickly, and ensure a warm, welcoming environment.
Dog Safety & Enrichment:
Oversee group play sessions, ensure staff are following safe play protocols, and support enrichment activities.
Scheduling & Admin:
Manage shift schedules, track time-off requests, and coordinate between both companies' needs.
Problem Solving:
Handle unexpected situations with calm, quick decision-making (yes, that includes the occasional mop emergency).
Growth & Improvements:
Work with ownership to implement new ideas, grow services, and maintain our reputation for top-notch care. We're Looking for
Someone Who:
Has management or leadership experience in pet care, hospitality, or related industries. Is dog-savvy—able to read body language, manage group play, and support training needs. Is organized, detail-oriented, and tech-friendly. Thrives in a fast-paced, active environment (you'll be on your feet most of the day). Has excellent communication skills with both staff and clients. Can work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Is passionate about creating a safe, happy space for both pets and people.
