In this energetic role, you will coordinate adoption processes, facilitate animal placements, and ensure a positive experience for both pets and adopters. Responsibilities Guide prospective adopters through the adoption process with enthusiasm, providing detailed information about animals' needs, behaviors, and care requirements Conduct animal assessments to evaluate temperament, health status, and suitability for various homes Assist with animal handling, including dog training, restraint, and manual handling to ensure safe interactions during visits and procedures Support pet care activities such as feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, and administering basic veterinary care under supervision Facilitate outdoor activities and exercise routines to promote physical health and behavioral well-being of animals Maintain accurate records of animal histories, adoption paperwork, and follow-up communications with adopters Promote animal welfare initiatives by educating the public on pet care, behavior management, and responsible ownership Experience Hands-on dog handling skills combined with dog training knowledge to support behavioral assessments and training sessions Experience working in pet care facilities or kennels, including animal restraint and manual handling techniques Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences Outdoor work experience involving animal handling or pet sitting roles preferred Knowledge of animal behavior, welfare practices, and pet care best practices is essential Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks related to animal care equipment or supplies This role is perfect for passionate animal advocates eager to foster positive change in their community.
