Job Description

Overview Join us at Rooby-Doo Canine Academy, where you will meet a variety of dogs with different backgrounds! We specialize in training a variety of behavioral issues from dog and human aggression to separation anxiety, etc. We typically take in dogs considered too extreme for most training facilities. We also offer specialized training, including various dog sports and other certifications. If you love working with dogs and want to be exposed to professional training firsthand, this is the right place for you! This position is a combination of Dog Trainer and Kennel Technician duties, who will assist in maintaining the dog training and housing facilities, as well as train some of the dogs. Duties Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable kennels and animal housing areas, including freshening water, cleaning the areas and bowls, platters, crates, etc. Moving dogs between housing and kennel areas, in accordance with safety protocols and training instructions. Maintain and clean outdoor areas, such as pulling weeds, picking up items, etc. Training dogs according to Rooby-Doo's safety protocols and training instructions. Qualifications Training experience in both classical conditioning and operant learning. Solid knowledge and experience in marker training. Experience handling problematic/aggressive dogs is highly valued. Prior kennel experience preferred. Able to follow instructions and safety protocols. Good attention to detail. Eagerness to learn new things and a love for helping dogs. Able to move well and lift objects without issue: involves physical labor and movement.
Pay:
$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
