Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Reactivity Expert to join our dynamic team. Help dogs and their families achieve calm, confident behavior through evidence-based, force-free training. This position blends hands-on reactivity work with client education, program coordination, and support for our dynamic training team. You'll work across diverse settings — including outdoor training spaces, client homes, and group environments — and contribute to the continued development of our enrichment and certification programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of dogs and their families while working in a lively, supportive environment. Responsibilities Training & Behavior Programs Develop and implement individualized reactivity training plans tailored to each dog's behavioral needs and progress goals. Prepare dogs for AKC Family Dog programs, including S.T.A.R. Puppy, CGC, Community Canine, Urban CGC, and Trick Dog titles. Incorporate FITDOG Fitness, FETCH, agility, and trick-based enrichment activities into training plans. Track training progress, adjust plans accordingly, and ensure readiness for certification testing. Client Communication & Support Provide consistent updates to clients through email, phone calls, and parent-teacher-style conferences. Offer guidance on at-home strategies to reinforce training techniques. Communicate professionally and promptly using the school phone and digital platforms. Program Coordination & Logistics Oversee scheduling and logistics for training sessions, workshops, and pop-up classes. Maintain updated calendars, client records, and progress documentation. Organize training tools, supplies, and materials for upcoming sessions. Operational Support & Media Assist trainers and staff with on-site coordination and daily operations. Capture photos and videos for documentation, client updates, and social media features. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and professional presentation at all training sites. Experience & Qualifications Required AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator Certification Authorization to work in the United States Reliable transportation and ability to lift at least 45 pounds Professional demeanor, punctuality, and appropriate attire (long pants, closed-toe shoes) Preferred Professional dog trainer certification (CCPDT or equivalent) Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with dog reactivity cases Familiarity with agility, trick, or canine fitness training Skills & Technical Competence Proficient in force-free canine behavior and learning theory Excellent communication, documentation, and scheduling skills Comfortable with smartphones, social media (Instagram, Facebook), and management apps (calendar tools, client records, fleet software like Bouncie)
