We need a hands on, experienced, dog handler to work with our customer dogs in group play, individual care, and assisting with training and group training classes. We have a steady base of customers already coming for daycare, boarding, enrichment activities and training. Responsibilities Organize and manage play groups for boarding and daycare dogs Asssit with enrichment activities and dogs that require 1 on 1 exercise Ability to safely handle dogs of all sizes without using aversive methods Support kennel operations and dog handling bsics as needed each day Confident in training group classes for puppy owners and dogs with behavior issues Assist Training Manager with board and train and boot camp programs Utilize dog handling experience and knowledge for behavior assessments Requirements Prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, kennels, rescue, training, or pet care is highly preferred Demonstrated dog training and handling skills with a focus on positive reinforcement techniques Knowledge of animal behavior, modification methods, and safe animal handling procedures. Large dog handling experience is required Success teaching classes or 1 on 1 dog training is ideal Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting of animals or equipment safely and comfortably 50+ lbs Passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent customer service Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with varying schedules daily A candidate with training experience from Petco or Petsmart type of jobs should be a good match for this position Join us in making a difference in the lives of dogs and their owners!
