Job Description
Hillary's Hound House Great dogs come from great puppies, and great puppies get their start at Hillary's Hound House. For more than twelve years, Hillary's Hound House has specialized in giving puppies the very best start in life. Through thoughtful socialization, enrichment, positive reinforcement, and careful observation, we help puppies grow into confident, resilient family companions. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of that mission. If you love puppies and dogs, enjoy meaningful work, are fascinated by behavior, and believe learning should never stop, we'd love to meet you. This is an active, hands-on position where you'll help care for puppies, support their training and social development, accompany them on adventures, help maintain an exceptionally clean nursery, and become part of a nurturing team. The qualities we're looking for You don't need to know everything. You do need to be someone who: Loves dogs and puppies. Is bright, curious, and eager to learn. Notices details that other people miss. Takes initiative without waiting to be asked. Enjoys staying busy and working with purpose. Learns from feedback and strives to improve. Is dependable, kind, and professional. Takes pride in doing every job well, whether it's comforting a nervous puppy, occasionally cleaning a play area, or assisting with training (we do a lot of that ;). What you'll do Every day is different, but your work may include: Caring for puppies throughout the day. Supervising play and enrichment activities. Assisting with puppy training and socialization. Accompanying puppies on field trips and outings. Preparing lunches and minimal cleaning to help maintain health and safety protocols. Learning how puppies think, learn, communicate, and develop. This position combines animal care, learning, observation, teamwork, and training. Every responsibility contributes to the puppies' success. Experience Professional experience working with dogs is preferred. More importantly, we're looking for someone with excellent judgment, strong observation skills, initiative, and a genuine desire to become exceptionally good at what they do. If you're looking for a position where your work truly matters—and where you'll continue learning every day—we'd love to hear from you. Please send your résumé and a brief note telling us why this position interests you. We'd especially like to know what draws you to working with puppies and what you hope to learn.
