Job:
Barkz & Recreation is looking for a hardworking, dependable, and confident Shift Lead to join our team! This is a leadership role for someone who is experienced working with dogs, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable helping manage daily operations alongside management. This is NOT just "playing with dogs." This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, cleaning, physical labor, time management, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Responsibilities Include:
Supervising daycare and boarding dogs. Assisting with staff training and working interviews. Helping oversee daily kennel operations. Monitoring dog behavior and maintaining safe playgroups. Cleaning kennels/yards thoroughly throughout the day. Assisting with enrichment activities and themed events. Helping create/edit client update videos and content. Maintaining structure, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Ideal Candidate:
Reliable and punctual. Leadership-minded and team-oriented. Comfortable handling large/high-energy dogs. Able to work independently and make decisions. Comfortable in loud, physically demanding environments. Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift 50+ lbs. Strong communication and multitasking skills. Previous experience with animal behavior, daycare, kennel environments, or team management preferred.
Pay:
$20-$24/hour depending on experience with animal behavior and management.
